Busy Girl

It has been another busy few weeks for Ainsley, including her first trip to the state fair!  We went to the state fair with friends and their son who is only a week younger than Ainsley.  The first stop was the animal barn - Ainsley liked to point out the animals ("moo" "baa") but was not a fan of getting close, especially to the big ones.  She eventually warmed up to the bunnies and chicks (peep peep).  We checked out the pig races, and she had fun watching the speed deamon Pot Bellies.  One thing she wasn't as excited about were the rides!  Mommy and Ainsley went down the super slide and she did not like it at all.  We tried to get her to ride the bulldozer ride, but she was not letting go.  The ride on the Dumbo/elephant ride with Daddy was equally as well tolerated.  Maybe next year.  She did like the frozen banana that Mommy shared with her on the way out.

Ainsley's doing great in her new school - fits in really well.  Last week they even wore pajamas to school for the Read for the Record day - the book was Llama, Llama, Red Pajama. 

We are still waiting for the very last 1 year molar to appear.  It has to be soon as much as Ainsley has been chewing on her fingers and drooling.  Any minute now.  Speaking of teeth, Ainsley went to the dentist for the first time with Mommy.  While there was very little examination of her teeth (she opened up enough at one point for them to confirm that, yes, she does have teeth.  She did watch carefully and curiously as Mommy got her teeth cleaned. 

Mommy is going away for a conference for the next couple of days.  Other than one night earlier this month, this will be the first time that Mommy's been away from Ainsley for a long period of time (2 nights and 2 mornings).  Mommy knows that Daddy will do a good job, but Mommy's nervous about leaving and will miss her little girl.

Ainsley's vocabulary continues to grow and she's starting to put words together.  "Hi Mommy" "Hi Daddy" are current ones.  Somewhere she's also learned the word "MINE".  Mommy and Daddy do not like her use of that word, especially with respect to her toys and other kids.  We're sure she probably picked it up in daycare, at home we're trying to break that habit.

Lately Ainsley has been obsessed with "a-side" (outside).  Whenever she can, she wants to go outside.  It's great!  We've taken walks in the wagon, rides on her trike, time on the porch, and walks together.  The fall weather is perfect for "a-side" time.
