Dear Ainsley:
Today you turn 5 months old and time continues to fly for Mommy and Daddy. What a little person you are becoming, more so every day. Mommy and Daddy try to guide you to being the best little person you can be, but we can already tell that you're such a wonderful soul and will be a wonderful human.
You've had many new firsts again this month including your first football game with Mommy, Daddy and Pop; your first laughs (you especially like Daddy's silly faces); your first ear infection and prescription; and a trip to a new doctor. You've also started to move around on your own - at this point just scooting backwards when you're on your tummy. You are very close to sitting up on your own, and can do so for short periods of time if you're also leaning on an arm. You've also started to get into a crawling position, but not for long. We know it is just a matter of time before you're off to the races though!
Mommy and Daddy just changed out all your clothes, putting away two boxes of clothes that you've outgrown (sizes N, 0-3 months and some 3 months) and pulled out all of your 3-6 month and 6 month clothes. You have such generous cousins and friends that you have more than enough clothes! Mommy is currently obsessed with how you look in your footy pjs! You've also moved up from a size 1-2 diaper to a size 2!
Just yesterday Grandma Miller (or whatever you decide to name her) arrived from Oregon for a visit. Last time you saw her you were less than a month old! She can't believe how big you've gotten in that short period of time. Auntie Erin also came down for a visit this past month, and she still won't change your diapers.
You still don't have much hair, but Mommy thinks it may finally be starting to come in. We checked with Nan Nan and Daddy didn't have much hair when he was little either. You also still don't have any teeth (for which Mommy is thankful), but we know they could arrive any day now.
You have started to put everything you touch into your mouth. Nothing is safe, including Mommy and Daddy's faces! We like to think that it is Ainsley kisses, but sometimes it's just the thing closest to slobber on!
You have developed quite a grip and love to hold onto things that are near you...including Mommy's hair. Daddy likes to hand you items so that you can help him carry them around the house. Sometimes they end up on the ground, but many times you do a good job of helping to get them where they need to go!
Mommy loves to watch you grow up and knows that in the next month you'll go through many changes. It's hard to imagine how small you were just a few short months ago when you are developing into such a big girl. Don't grow up too quickly.
