No Excuses

I can now publish from my phone, I have no excuses for not keeping the blog up going forward.

As is evident from the last post, Ainsley's little brother was born since I last really blogged.  The last month of the pregnancy was rough for Mommy.  Lots of pain in her hips for the most part.  But, there was lots of celebration too, capped off with a wonderful delivery and the arrival of a little boy!  Ainsley was right all those times she told us she was getting a little brother.  We had a great 12 weeks of leave together, which included extended visits from Yia Yia and Grandpa and Jams.  Ainsley enjoyed all the time with her grandparents and was spoiled beyond reason.

When Corbin was about 5 weeks old we discoverd a congential cataract in his left eye.  He underwent cataract surgery on October 15 and a follow up procedure on the 29th.  Since October 22nd he's been wearing a little contact lens in that eye, which Mommy has to take out and put back in (with Daddy's help) every weekend.  Despite all that, he's just a happy and strong little boy.  He just started rolling over this week at 3.5 months old!

We had a fun Halloween - Ainsley was Curious George and Corbin was her banana.

Ainsley loves being a big sister, she loves to give Corbin hugs and kisses and help take care of him.  She's a great diaper changing assistant.  We just have to remind her sometimes that she needs to be gentle with her brother.
We have to patch Corbin's good eye every day to help strengthen the one he had surgery on.  The doctor is very pleased with his progress, but we'll have to keep doing it for a few years.  He doesn't seem to mind it too much.

Mommy went back to work on November 14, and Corbin has been enjoying his days with Miss Kim and his friends at daycare.  Ainsley started at the end of August in her new classroom and is doing really well with Miss Dot and Miss Daisy.  This month she is the "leader of the month" in her classroom, so we had fun putting together her leadership poster to take to school. Tonight is her school's holiday program - Daddy is super excited!
