15 Month Stats

It has been way too long since the last post here.  Ainsley is now 15.5 months old and growing into quite the little lady.  See:

In the same period of time, we've taken Mommy and Me swimming classes.  Ainsley went from crying as soon as she was put into the pool, to going under and reaching for the wall all by herself without any problem.  We had a great time in the classes and can't wait until we can do more learning!

Ainsley had her 15 month appointment too.  She was 17 lb, 1.5 oz (less than 0%), 28.5 inches tall (6%) and head of 12.5 inches (12%).  Still my very petite lady!  So petitie she still can fit in some 9 month clothes.

Ainsley now has a number of words: ball, dog (everything with fur is a dog), mama, dada, more, please (pees), shoe, nose, no, cat, all done, eye, booby, and probably one word that we say is "sit".  She will also as "whaisst" - her version of "what is it"?  She knows the signs for more, please, and all done.  My smart girl also knows where her head, ears, eyes, mouth, belly, toes, and bellybutton are and will point to them for you!  Ainsley can also tell you what a monkey, snake, elephant and dog say.  She is such a sponge for information, it is amazing to watch her learn.

We have had a busy summer so far!  We've gone up to Washington DC to visit with Auntie Erin.  The trip included Ainsley's first trip to an MLB game and a trip to the National Zoo.  She loved pointing out all the "dogs" at the zoo - known to adults as monkeys, meercats, elephants, gorillas, and other animals.  It was a long trip to get to the zoo and she slept through the first part, which was no big deal as all the main attrations were closed.

We also spent a week at the beach with friends.  Ainsley LOVED the beach and the sand!  She would even run up to the water and let the ocean lap up onto her feet.  What a change from last year!  The pool at the house was great too as we could practice all our skills from swimming lessons.  Ainsley loved hanging out with the bigger kids (2, 5, 7, 9 and 16) and learning from them.  Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some time to relax too.

We've spent time with Grandpa Stan and Jan on weekends out at their camper on the river (2 overnights!) and at our house when they venture into the city.  It is fun to see Ainsley interact with them, and she has Grandpa wrapped around her little finger for sure.  Grandpa also came to the rescue one day when Ainsley couldn't go to school due to our first encounter with pink eye.  He came and stayed with Ainsley during the day and Nan Nan took over for the afternoon until Mommy and Daddy could get home.

Ainsley has had fun at a number of different playdates and family events over the summer.  It is great having kids she can play with and for Mommy and Daddy to meet and hang out with other parents!

Fourth of July was a busy day, with most of the family in Richmond coming to our house to celebrate.  Mommy, Daddy and Ainsley had matching Old Navy $5 shirts (it was Mommy's idea).  We didn't get to see any fireworks because of the rain, but had a nice time with family and friends.

Mommy and Daddy made the hard decision to change Ainsley's daycare and she'll be starting at the new daycare on September 12.  We know that Ainsley will make friends quickly but will miss her friends at her current center. 

Mommy's goal is to be better about updating our adventures on the blog!
